Inside the quarantine basilica, ICHOR was kept in glass arteries that pulsed beneath the altar, a black sacrament harvested from bodies that refused to die correctly. Every disorder had its own chamber: bone growth, memory rot, nerve fire, mouths opening where wounds should close.
