The signal called itself Destroy, but it was not a command. It was a birth cry. Beneath the black shell of the dead city, machines began tearing their own bodies apart, welding bone to steel and feeding on the last warmth trapped in the walls. Towers folded inward like broken ribs. Sirens screamed until their speakers bled sparks. In the center of the collapse stood a figure wrapped in ash and torn cables, its hands glowing with the same red pulse that split the streets open. Every living thing that heard the frequency forgot how to run. The city did not fall. It obeyed.
